Below are some testimonies to why current exec members applied and how it changed their lives.
"After not making exec as a freshman, I was super nervous about reapplying as a sophomore. Luckily, an older member on exec encouraged me to try again and I will always be thankful for her encouragement because it brought me to where I am today. I wanted to find something I was fully committed to in college and Soonerthon has been that for me. It has allowed me to be apart of something bigger than myself and give back to my school and community in a way that I never thought was possible."
"I went into freshman year very scared I was going to be at such at big university and wouldn't be able to get as involved as I wanted. My high school was fortunate enough to have hosted a mini-marathon my senior year, and I fell in love with the cause. I came into my freshman year knowing I wanted to get as involved with Soonerthon as I possibly could. I love everything about this cause and making a difference is so fulfilling."

"My dear friend from high school has a sister with a rare disability. Children's hospital was not able to care for her sister, so her family moved to Houston while she stayed here to finish out high school. I saw how hard it was on her to be so far from her family and for her family to be so far away from their support system. I believe in a future where families don't have to leave the state to receive health care. I want to raise money to help keep families together. I have seen how hard it is on families to have to split up so that their child can receive the best treatment possible."
"You should apply for Soonerthon because it is an amazing opportunity to make an impact in the life of others simply by showing them that they are valued, supported, and loved. Soonerthon exec is filled with people who are passionate about serving and encouraging others!"
"My little brother benefited from the Children's Hospital in Dallas, TX when he was extremely ill with a disease that was considered very rare at the time. He could not be diagnosed right away and nearly died from all the blood work and weight loss that occurred. The doctors made the experience as enjoyable as possible though. They loved us well and never left us feeling like we needed to give up. After four months, he was diagnosed with Celiac Disease and was given a plan to pursue his nutritional wellness. While the disease is common now, it was rare at the time and we nearly lost him because his food was eating the lining of his stomach--he got down to 25 lbs as a six year old. On top of the love and care we received, we had almost no bills to pay after the long process! I applied to give back to the organization of people that kept my brother here."
"I applied for morale because my freshman year at Soonerthon, one thing that I remembered the most was not the fact that my feet really hurt, but the fact that I had so much fun and left a better dancer (haha). I applied for morale to be that for other people, and to show people that you can have fun, and it is possible to make a difference while dancing. I applied for Soonerthon in general to make a bigger splash for a cause that I hold very close to my heart.
